Marta Małkiewicz

PSYCHIATRY SPECIALIST

Psychiatry Specialist. In 2014, she completed her medical studies at the Medical University of Gdańsk. She undertook her specialization training at the Department of Adult Psychiatry of the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk, as well as in foreign internships, including at the University Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče in Zagreb and Vitalmed Helsingin Uniklinikka in Helsinki. During her PhD, she analyzed polysomnographic studies of patients with restless legs syndrome.

Since 2018, she has been an assistant at the Department of Human Physiology at the Medical University of Gdańsk, where she conducts classes with students. She is the author of numerous scientific publications.

She is the principal investigator of the National Science Centre PRELUDIUM research grant titled “The impact of treatment with serotonin reuptake Inhibitors and physical Exercise on blood-brain barrier Integrity, concentration of selected neurotransmitters in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus, kynurenine pathway, and mood in patients with depression.” In this study, she examines the influence of physical exercise on the effectiveness of depression treatment.

She completed a 2-year postgraduate program at the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy at SWPS University to complement pharmacological treatment methods with therapeutic techniques and provide comprehensive assistance to patients.

Consistently updating and deepening her knowledge to offer assistance in accordance with the latest standards, she provides expert help in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, sleep disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and complications related to various types of addictions.
